In other news, a deadly drug on the rise in the heart of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation reservation. We share the resources currently available to citizens struggling with drug addiction and what the tribe has in the works to help them.
Our entrepreneur coverage included The Chefs Cave providing hundreds of meals to tornado survivors after fatal storms tore through Texas and Oklahoma, as well as an inspirational brand re-launch in Alabama.
And the Broome County Urban League held their first “Let’s Make Small Businesses a Big Deal” roundtable discussion this month. Broome County Executive Jason Garner said discussions with minority business owners in the community simply have not happened and agreed that changes need to be made.
More people are struggling to stretch their dollars and feed their families nationwide. That’s why VNN turned to Chef Jeff Marlow at the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma’s Culinary Center for help. He showed us how to prepare meals with common ingredients found in their emergency food boxes.
