Nichols and Keith headed to runoff election this November
(OKLAHOMA) After a tight race on Tuesday, State Representative Monroe Nichols and Tulsa County Commissioner Karen Keith are headed to a runoff election to determine Tulsa’s next mayor this November.
According to unofficial results from the Oklahoma State Election Board, Nichols came in first place with a total of 18,729 votes and 33.1% of the vote.
Keith came up just behind Nichols with 18,457 votes and 32.62% of the vote.
First “Oklahoma Survivor’s Act” case filed in Tulsa County
(OKLAHOMA) After years of work and countless hours put in by numerous criminal justice advocates, the Oklahoma Survivor’s Act (OSA) finally went into effect this past Thursday.
Senate Bill 1835, signed by Governor Kevin Stitt in May, allows courts to issue lower sentences to survivors whose crimes relate to the abuse they endured.
Sculpture celebrating Irish connection unveiled in Choctaw Nation
(CHOCTAW NATION) The unbreakable bond between the Choctaw Nation and Ireland reached a new milestone this August.
Two events celebrated the unveiling of the Eternal Heart sculpture, honoring the longstanding connection between Ireland and the Choctaw Nation.
