But it’s not just the tribes who have taken a stand against Stitt’s moves; the Legislature and the state’s Attorney General are now openly at odds with him at the highest level yet.
Governor Stitt Leads The Nation As First Governor To Issue Women’s Bill Of Rights By Executive Order
(OKLAHOMA) On Tuesday, Governor Kevin Stitt led the nation as the first governor to issue an executive order to boldly stand with women — defining sex-based words like ‘female,’ ‘woman,’ and ‘mother’ and protecting women-only spaces. Joining the governor in today’s signing ceremony was Independent Women’s Voice, the group that developed the model legislation that inspired the Women’s Bill of Rights Executive Order.
After a state law banning some lessons on race, Oklahoma teachers tread lightly on the Tulsa Race Massacre
(OKLAHOMA) One year after Oklahoma lawmakers passed a bill banning some concepts about race in public schools, Bixby teachers decided to shelve a lesson on “Dreamland Burning,” a young-adult historical fiction novel based on the Tulsa Race Massacre. A parent from the group Moms for Liberty had complained about the book during the previous year, although her son was allowed to read something else.
