Happy Spring, Verified News Community. VNN’s Rachael Schuit is here with your March News Byte. If April showers bring May flowers, March was the calm before the storm.
We have a lot of exciting projects building, including the return of From Adversity To Entrepreneurship (FATE). This year's learning series is focused on Trauma Informed Business Development and we're not doing it alone.
In addition to our community partners, we also have our first published VNN Expert collaborator, licensed trauma counselor Alexie Foster, who's writing a three-part publication to coincide with our series.
Speaking of new additions, we were also pleased to welcome new VNN Journalist Trista Vaughn to the team this month.
Her first order of work is expanding VNN's local reach through a national lens, thanks in big part to Builders + Backers here in Tulsa.
We're advancing promotion of all of our local collaborator content, including the work of our VNN affiliates, which you can find weekly in the VNN News Feed.
As well as the work of our other VNN Journalists, like these stories about prison newspaper publications growing across the United States and IrishFest returning to Tulsa in 2024.
And VNN collaborators continued to team up to co-produce local stories this month, including coverage of the Korean War Memorial Dedication in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
April is the start of a new quarter and Q2 is all about justice at VNN.
Make sure you've downloaded the VNN app to your phone so you can scroll the news feed for new stories every week, and subscribe to our email list and YouTube for additional news and updates.
See you in Q2!
