Muscogee Nation bets on $100 million casino in Coweta
(MUSCOGEE NATION) The Muscogee Creek Nation announced plans Thursday to build a $100 million casino and hotel complex in Coweta that officials say will contribute hundreds of new jobs to the region and boost tourism efforts.
Chief Standing Bear advocates for Self-Governance at RNC
(OSAGE NATION) Principal Chief Geoffrey Standing Bear spoke on behalf of the Osage Nation at the Republican National Convention at an event hosted by Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK).
Standing Bear said self-governance and self-sufficiency for tribes are vital. As an example, he said during the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic the Osage found itself without critical supplies, such as meat for their elder and youth meal services and fresh vegetables from the local grocery stores.
Lily Gladstone and Circle Cinema screen “Bring Them Home” in Tulsa
(MUSCOGEE NATION) After coming off the success of “Killers of the Flower Moon”, “Dark Waters” and “Reservation Dogs”, Blackfeet actress Lily Gladstone’s newest feature project now is a documentary that tells the story of a group of Blackfeet people who established the first wild buffalo herd on their ancestral territory. The documentary, “Bring Them Home”, or “Aiskótáhkapiyaaya”, authentically tells the story of the decades-long fight to bring back an integral piece of Blackfeet culture.
Not only does Gladstone lend her voice as narrator, she also served as an executive producer. The movie screened at Circle Cinema’s film festival alongside other Indigenous films on July 12.

(CHOCTAW NATION) The Gathering Business Summit, dedicated to supporting Indian Country business, entrepreneurship, and economic development, boasted two days of industry and government leaders this year, including a keynote speech by Assistant Secretary - Interior Affairs Bryan Newland.
Newland, a citizen of the Bay Mills Indian Community in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, kicked things off by highlighting the historic $45 billion investment into Tribal communities by the Biden-Harris Administration.
